Continuing dialogue with NATO is in Armenia’s interests, RPA member says

Head of Head of Armenian Delegation to NATO Parliamentary Assembly, member of RPA faction Koryun Nahapetyan said today that "continuing political dialogue with NATO is in Armenia’s strategic interests”.

“Aggravation of NATO-Russia relations will result in issues in the Alliance’s and partner states’ relations. However, Armenia-NATO relations are on rather a high level now. Of course, we analyze what kind of relations NATO will have with the partner states if there are new negative developments. But as of now, I don’t have any serious concerns”, said Koryun Nahapetyan today answering Mediamax’s question.

Koryun Nahapetyan said that a separate resolution on relations between the Alliance and partner states will be adopted within NATO Summit due in fall.

According to member of Armenian Delegation to NATO, MP Tevan Poghosyan, NATO attaches importance to relations with Armenia and is ready to deepen them as much as Armenia is ready for it.

“28+1 format used by NATO to work with partner states is a very convenient field that doesn’t attempt to link NATO-partner states relations with the relations of the Alliance and third countries”, said the MP.
