The Black Sea Region: Bringing Future Decision Makers Together In the Changing World

 

Armenian Atlantic Association (AAA) together with its youth branch Armenian Youth Atlantic Association (AYAA) hosted a youth conference “The Black Sea Region:  Bringing future decision makers together in the changing world”, which took place in Yerevan, on 14-15 March, 2013.


The goal of the projectis to establish a dialogue among the representatives ofthenext generation of stakeholders from the Black Sea Region countries and give them a floor for regional cooperation, by fostering discussions and assessing the conflict management and security challenges the Black Sea Region faces, with a view to identify obstacles to regional security and cooperation.


The two-day conference brought together young professionals from the Black Sea Region. The participants had an opportunity to gain insights into the issues of importance for the Black Sea Region presented by experts and policy makers. They participated in workshops, debates, and eventually, a video-conference. They were also provided an intensive training on negotiation and leadership skills.


On 14th March a video-conference with NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Mr. James Appathurai, as well as NATO PDD was conducted, which enabled floor for gaining insights into issues of importance for the Black Sea region presented directly by NATO officials.
