NATO is pleased with the process of Armenia’s Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) implementation.
Mediamax was informed in the press service of the National Security Service (NSS) that NATO report on Armenia’s IPAP implementation reads this. It was approved in May and discussed today at the session of the Interdepartmental Committee under the chairmanship of NSS Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan.
According to him, of special importance are NATO assessments concerning reforms within the framework of the Strategic Defense Review (SDR), which evidence that our Armed Forces are at the stage of bringing in compliance with international standards.
“This is very important for our country, since it increases combat readiness of our Army and the level of security provision of the country”, Artur Baghdasaryan stated, he also singled out the parts of the report, which mark progress, registered by Armenia in combating corruption.
NSS Secretary noted that the report also touches upon issues, requiring operative solution.
At the session, they also discussed issues, related to preparation for NATO exercise on reacting to natural disasters “Armenia – 2010”, which will take place in September.
