All measures for 2009, provided for by Armenia’s Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) with NATO, were fulfilled.
As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the National Security Council of Armenia, Secretary of the Council, Chairman of Interdepartmental Committee on Coordinating IPAP Implementation Artur Baghdasaryan said this today. He noted that within the framework of IPAP, 122 measures were realized in 2009 and stressed the importance of Armenia’s cooperation with NATO on the threshold of the Strategic Defense Review (SDR).
Secretary of the National Security Council informed that joint exercise with NATO on preventing emergency situations will be held in Armenia this year. In this context, Artur Baghdasaryan noted importance of completing elaboration of the National Concept for Civil Defense and the Military Education Doctrine.
In case of efficient implementation of all planned programs, at the end of 2010, while composing the new program for cooperation with NATO, one will be able to established higher target levels and increase the efficiency of reforms, Artur Baghdasaryan stated.
At the session they noted that NATO Evaluation Mission, which paid a visit to Yerevan recently, also gave a positive assessment to the process of IPAP implementation by Armenia.
