We are committed to strengthen relations with Armenia, NATO PA Vice-President says

 

Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of the German Parliament, Vice-President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Karl Lamers said in Yerevan today that NATO is committed to strengthen relations with Armenia.

Karl Lamers stated it at “NATO: Challenges and Visions” discussion on June 12.

“We believe NATO should pay more attention to the countries in this region. Armenia has been cooperating with NATO for already 20 years. Since joining “Partnership for Peace” program in 1994, Armenia has been cooperating with Alliance in civil and military areas. A month ago Armenia agreed with NATO upon the 2014-2016 cycle of the Individual Partnership Action Plan program”, said Karl Lamers.

According to him, NATO commends Armenia’s active involvement in the ensuring the Euro-Atlantic security.

“Your servicemen have taken part and still participate in NATO peacekeeping missions. It is highly important for us to know that Armenia is ready to continue its participation in the peacekeeping missions in Afghanistan after 2014”, said the NATO PA Vice-President.
