Armenia to keep “combining” cooperation with CSTO and NATO

As a member of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Armenia will continue partnership with NATO supporting "the positions of combination of partnerships”.

Secretary of National Security Council of Armenia Arthur Baghdasaryan stated this speaking at an international conference in Yerevan today.

“As one of CSTO key members, Armenia will go on with its partnership with the NATO based on clearly outlined agenda. We think there is potential of combination here and we should move forward. Opposition of partnerships may only have negative outcomes”, said Arthur Baghdasaryan.

According to him, Armenia-NATO cooperation has prospects of development and strengthening which is indicated by the event list scheduled within 2014-2015 Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan.

Arthur Baghdasaryan attached special importance to the programs aimed at cyber security and combating cyberterrorism.

The Secretary of National Security Council also stressed the importance of active involvement of Armenian Armed Forces in NATO peacekeeping operations.

“Armenia supports efforts towards regional and international security and stability. We especially stress the importance of our Armed Forces’ participation in ISAF mission in Afghanistan”, said Arthur Baghdasaryan.
